Catalysis: The way to a better environment and a greener future

As the standard of living around the world rises, there is a growing need for more food, fuel and materials. This puts pressure on our resources and places increased demands on the effective use of these without going beyond the environment. Catalytic processes today play a crucial role in reducing air pollution from combustion processes and, in the long term, catalysis can also be a key element in the efficient use of biomass for the production of e.g. Chemicals and fuel. The presentation provides an overview of existing environmental technologies at Haldor Topsøe A/S as well as the development of new types of catalysts for the conversion of biomass.
