Wind turbines at sea – a high-growth industry

Wind turbines at sea – a high-growth industry

Wind is an important part of Europe's transition to more clean energy – and the potential is great.
DONG Energy is the company in the world that has built most offshore wind farms – more than a quarter of total wind capacity from offshore turbines. In 2020, DONG Energy's goal is to double the installed capacity compared to 2016 from 3.0 GW to 6.5 GW, which in 2020 corresponds to 16 million Europeans ' annual consumption of electricity.
The capacity of the turbines installed today is more than 16 times greater than that of the turbines in the first offshore wind farm. A single offshore wind farm can have a capacity the size of a nuclear power plant and lie 100 km from the coast.
An industry in rapid development – and with Danish companies in the driver's seat.

After the lecture, there is a general meeting.
