Niels Bohr Commemorative is about Denmark's probably most well-known and important scientists. In 1922 Niels Bohr received the Nobel Prize in Physics in recognition of his groundbreaking work. In 1929, he was an honorary doctorate at the Polytechnic Institute, the current Technical University of Denmark (DTU). In 1938 he received the copleymedal of the Royal Society of London. He was the president of the Science company from 1939 to his death. In addition, Bohr was appointed honorary member of the Engineering Association in Denmark 1945.

Bohr was an honorary doctorate at 30 faculties, a general member of 30 and honorary member of 24 Academes and other scientific societies. He was an honorary citizen of Narssaq. He was awarded a number of awards and medals, including Atoms for the Peace Award, as well as the first of the Engineering Association in Denmark for his honour, the Niels Bohr medal instituted. In 1931 he was awarded the honorary residence at Carlsberg.

Niels Bohr became Knight of the Order of the Dannebrog 1920, commander of the 2nd. Grade 1937 and 1. Grade 1946 and received the Grand Cross in Diamonds 1955, Dannebrog's Husband (1931), received the Medal of Merit in gold and was also – as one of very few bourgeois Danes – turned to Knight of the Order of the Elephant (1947).

He is also one of the few Danes who have been depicted on a Danish banknote, namely a 500-dollar bill, just as Bohr also exists as a stamp motif. The basic substance Bohrium is named after him.
