In collaboration with the company Terma, DTU Space, under the European Space Agency ESA, has developed the ASIM project. ASIM was launched to the International Space Station ISS 2. April 2018. ASIM examine phenomena associated with thunderstorms and lightning discharges, which take place above the clouds and strike out into the room. This is done using optical and X-ray and gamma detectors.
The project is the largest and most demanding Danish space project so far, and has required a comprehensive effort to develop. Partly with the development, design, testing, documentation of the equipment. The establishment, development and execution of the scientific objectives of the Mission;
